Manufacturers produce them in standard sizes, see below and some manufacturers have some additional sizes. However, designers generally customize a rug to fit the exact dimensions of the space. You can do this yourself with the help of a salesperson at a rug store.

Standard Area Rug Dimensions:

3x5 feet

6x8 feet

8x10 feet

9x12 feet

10x14 feet

Wall to wall carpeting:

Broadloom is most common type of wall-to-wall carpet. It is woven up to 15 feet wide to minimize seams.
